The original house was lacking in space and making difficult to comfortably accommodate an extended family. The car space was limited to just a covered area accessible through narrow driveway. The living area was cramped with lack of natural light. The balcony needed modernising and there was space for a second balcony on the middle floor. There was also no dedicated self-contained space for home office or granny flat. The whole design of the house was dated and needed major renovation.
